All-virtual Astrophysics & Python Bootcamp for Female Students
We have hosted an all-virtual and free Astrophysics and Python bootcamp, specifically open to female and non-binary students entering grades 4-8. This beginner-friendly and free bootcamp took place from June 30th to July 2nd and was designed for students with no prior experience, providing an opportunity to learn introductory Python logic and Astrophysics concepts. Throughout the bootcamp, we covered fundamental topics in Python, including variables, functions, for/while loops, and Python libraries. Additionally, we delved into Astrophysics subjects such as the origins of the universe, our solar system, black holes, exoplanets, and even a little physics. Participants engaged in interactive group activities, have the chance to win cash prizes, and be inspired by guest speakers. Our ultimate goal is to foster interest among young female and non-binary students in the fields of Astrophysics and Computer Science, while promoting diversity and inclusivity in STEM.
WHY?
Only 33% of Astronomy Majors in the US are female
Only 20% of Computer Science Majors in the US are female
Given the low number of Women entering these fields of STEM, our mission is to empower a new generation of female and non-binary students by providing them with sufficient resources to explore Astronomy and Computer Science.

5-Week Introductory Python Course
We hosted a 5-week Virtual & Free Introduction to Python Course open to anyone in grades 4-8. This beginner-friendly and free course took place from September 10th to October 8th, running every Sunday. Designed for students with no prior coding experience, this provided an opportunity to learn introductory Python logic. Throughout the course, we taught all the fundamentals of Python from data types, logical operators, tuples, conditional statements, loops, functions, and modules with interactive games and lectures. Additionally, students got the opportunity and guidance to create beginner-friendly Python projects including a Calculator and Mad Libs game.

Astrophysics + Biology Boocamp
We hosted a virtual Astrophysics and Biology bootcamp, mainly open to anyone in grades 5-8. This beginner-friendly and free bootcamp was designed for students with no prior experience, providing an opportunity to learn introductory Biology and Astrophysics concepts. Throughout the bootcamp, we covered fundamental topics in Biology, including ecology, human anatomy, and cell structure. Additionally, we delved into Astrophysics subjects such as the origins of the universe, our solar system, black holes, exoplanets, and even a little physics. Participants got to engage in interactive games and win cash prizes. Our ultimate goal is to foster interest among youth in the fields of Astrophysics and Biology.

Machine Learning + Web Development Bootcamp
We hosted a virtual Machine Learning and Web Development bootcamp, designed for students with no prior experience, providing an opportunity to learn introductory Machine Learning and Web Development concepts. Throughout the bootcamp, we covered fundamental topics in Machine Learning, including types of ML, and work on a beginner friendly project. Additionally, we delved into parts of Web Development with HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
